Don't break the law

certification of pipes and pipelines can be voluntary and compulsory. It all depends on what kind it belongs to. The GOST certificate of conformity is mandatory for pressure pipes made of PE and gas pipelines. That is, the sale of these products without this document is punishable by law.

In accordance with the requirements of TR CU 032/2013, high-pressure polyethylene pressure pipes (more than 0.05 MPa) are subject to certification:

  1. With a diameter of more than 25 mm, which are intended for steam and gas of group 1.
  2. With a radius of 16 mm or more, used for Category 2 gaseous media.
  3. With a diameter of more than 25 mm, which are intended for liquids of group 1.
  4. With a radius of 100 mm and a pressure greater than 1 MPa, used for Category 2 liquid media.

It is necessary to issue a declaration of the Customs Union for the first and second groups of pipes, and a certificate for the third and fourth groups. The requirements of TR CU 032/2013 include elements of water and gas pipelines: trunk, in-field and local distribution, used for the transportation of oil, gas and other products.

Metal, stainless steel, steel (electric-welded straight-seam), cast iron, reinforced concrete, trunk, water supply, ceramic sewer pipes do not require the mandatory production of a certificate of quality compliance. Nevertheless, many manufacturers voluntarily undergo the procedure, which allows them to be more competitive in the market.

How to get a certificate for pipes

If you want to go through the certification procedure and get a certificate of compliance, then follow the following procedure. To begin with, you need to submit an application and accompanying documentation to the appropriate authority. After conducting certain studies, experts will register and issue you a certificate of conformity for pipes.

For how long is the pipe certificate issued

The type of quality certificate for pipes affects how long it will be valid. The certificate and declaration of the Customs Union for pipes are issued for a period of 1 to 5 years. The customer can choose the optimal time when submitting documents.

Types of vessels, structural features and their danger

The manufacture of most pressure vessels is made of metal. However, there is the production of vessels made of plastic (for example, plastic barrels), graphite, ceramic, concrete, wooden, glass, etc.

If we talk about vessels used in the chemical and petrochemical industries, then the usual material for manufacturing is steel. The vessel can have various shapes: more often - cylindrical (shell and bottoms), serpentine, spherical. The size of the vessels also varies from very small to especially large. In addition, pressure vessels can be vertical and horizontal, underground and aboveground. In general, there are a huge variety of types of vessels.

Pressure vessels can be fixed in various ways: mounted on supports, dug into the ground, can be suspended.

Vessels can be cast, but as a rule, they are made by welding metal sheet - shells and bottoms from above and below by the method of "stamping".

In the manufacture of pressure vessels, the most careful attention is paid to the welds – the weakest points of the vessel, since it is on them that the strength of the vessel and the safety of its future operation at the enterprise depend. If the seam is made poorly– the vessel will have a defect along this seam.

Various elements can be attached to the vessels by welding: inlet and outlet fittings, to which the elements of the shut-off and control valves are also welded. The welding quality of all these vessel elements must be monitored. In order to ensure the quality of welding in Russia, a system of its certification was developed. First of all, all persons involved in the welding process must undergo regular certification separately for each welding method. Moreover, the materials used in welding (welding electrodes) are certified. Certification is not without attention to the technology itself, according to which the welding process takes place and the equipment with which welding is carried out. After the vessel is manufactured, all welding seams undergo mandatory testing by non-destructive testing methods.

Requirements for conformity assessment

First of all, pressure vessels fall under the effect of TR CU 032/2013 "On the safety of equipment operating under excessive pressure". This regulation defines the parameters by which vessels fall under its action.

Vessels may fall under the TR CU 010/2011 "On the safety of machinery and equipment". For example, vessels for chemical processes are subject to declaration under TR CU 010. It is possible to determine whether a particular vessel falls under the scope of this regulation based on its purpose.

Also, the equipment may be subject to several technical regulations at the same time.

Features of the conformity assessment procedure:

All equipment falling under the regulation TR CU 032/2013 "On the safety of equipment operating under excessive pressure" is divided into 4 hazard categories. At the same time, the 3rd and 4th hazard categories include especially dangerous equipment subject to certification. Vessels belonging to the 1st and 2nd hazard categories are subject to declaration. Moreover, as a rule, vessels for gases belong to the 3rd and 4th categories, and vessels for liquids belong to the 1st and 2nd.

According to TR CU 010/2011 "On the safety of machinery and equipment", such a separation is not provided. Almost all vessels that fall under its action are subject to declaration. At the same time, it is possible to replace the declaration with certification at the request of the applicant. Confirmation of compliance of equipment according to TR CU 010/2011 is possible according to the declaration scheme 1d, in which the manufacturer's factory test protocols can be used, and 5d for vessels intended for operation at hazardous production facilities (OPO). The 5d scheme, according to its procedure, involves the issuance of a certificate for the type of product, as well as testing the sample in an accredited testing laboratory.

The procedure for certification of serial products provides for a mandatory analysis of production. When analyzing production to confirm the conformity of pressure vessels, first of all, the presence of certified welding technology at the plant and the timely passage of certification by welding production specialists are checked. A necessary criterion is also the presence of its own nondestructive testing laboratory or a third-party one involved on a contractual basis. In addition, the timeliness of conducting its own hydraulic or pneumatic overpressure tests of the produced vessels is checked.

After checking all the necessary documentation by a certification expert, samples are taken. As a rule, the largest and most dangerous sample is selected, and then on-site testing is carried out by plant employees under the supervision of a tester of an accredited testing laboratory. Upon successful completion of the tests, a test report is drawn up, the final set of documents provided for by the regulations is formed, and a certificate of conformity is issued.

We pay special attention that the pressure vessel body selected for testing should not be painted or covered with any insulation, otherwise testing will be impossible.
